This book is must reading for every newly-anointed CEO, especially those working in the not-for-profit sector. Being made the Boss is definitely a good thing, but past success is no guarantee of being successful in this role. Quite the contrary. Each year we read in the papers where an accomplished and talented individual simply does not make the grade and is dismissed. These individuals are mostly clueless as to what they did wrong and blame everyone and anything except themselves. Had they absorbed and practiced the principles described in this book, they would likely still have their jobs. The problem is you don’t know what you don’t know. Leadership requires special knowledge. Read the book and learn."
